The Complex Fluid Rheology and 3D-Fabrication (CF-3D) group is focused on studying the rheological behavior (e.g., yield stress, viscosity) of suspensions and other complex fluids. Special focus is paid towards investigating particle dispersion, flocculation, and coagulation, with an aim towards developing methods for the control of these phenomena. Concurrent research is performed to develop linkages between material composition, rheological performance, and the geometrical accuracy and mechanical performance of 3D-printed components. Taken together, the outcomes seek to enable the robust development of scalable techniques for additive manufacturing of infrastructural components.
